Get That Hot Body Back After Giving Birth

By: Dawn Eastman

Your baby is finally here and you feel so good, but what a downer when you look in the mirror; you have all that pregnancy weight to lose. There's no big deal about that; most postpartum women hold onto on average 10-15 pounds after delivery and in some cases it is more than that. What do I do now. So, don't let it get you down....just start working on a plan that will kickstart your weight loss after pregnancy.

Losing weight is one of the hardest things that a person can face; but if you get your desire worked up, get with your doctor and have a good dietary plan under your belt that contains exercises, and then you are ready to get rid of those unwanted pounds. Now that you have a top notch plan, get moving and get it in gear; the plan is not going to work if you don't act on it.

Remember that this will take time and take effort for you to pull it off; just don't succumb to the tempting ploys of the quick weight loss gurus that want you to buy their products and turn into a slimmer, fitter you after a few weeks...that's malarkey. It's absolutely crazy to even think about doing a rapid weight loss after pregnancy, even if you tried something like that in a normal state, you would be taking a chance.

Let your system get straightened out now and back on an even keel after you have recovered from the throes of pregnancy and the trauma of birth, and possibly even breastfeeding too. Starting a quick weight loss plan now would be the nuttiest thing you could pull on your recovering body. Dropping the weight gradually in about 9 mos. is a sane plan. Give your body a break and allow at least as much time to take the weight off as it took to put it on.

The baby must be fed as soon as he is delivered, so Mother Nature has devised a way for that to happen; you gain weight during pregnancy so that you have plenty of nutrition stored up physically to be given to the baby as food in the form of breastfeeding. We are still operating under the age old code that the mother is the sole support of the baby's nutritional needs and to do that, she must be totally prepared nutritionally herself. Another secret revealed from the mysteries of Mother Nature; the baby is growing and is now being weaned from the breastfeeding, so the signal goes out that the weight the mother has been carrying is no longer needed, and the weight begins to fall off naturally at a very gradual pace. As a matter of fact, a significant amount of the postpartum weight will be history after the baby is weaned.

Recent studies on breastfeeding mothers show that nearly 700 calories are burned per day. If you included that factor with other prominent weight loss plans, then it could be thought of as a major contributor to weight loss after pregnancy. All the factors that can be involved in weight loss should be added in along with diet plans, how much exercise you are getting and a score of other things in order to get the most out of the plan.

Put your mind to the fact that you must lose the weight to stay healthy and energetic while you are taking care of the baby and breastfeeding; and you must have a weight loss plan that you like and you won't bail out on, and one that provides good sound nutrition so you and the baby have a good nutritional foundation for life, as well as one that will allow the weight to come off gradually and in a natural manner. You must be in the best shape you can be in when you are taking care of a newborn baby; that baby relies on you for life itself, and you cannot provide the basics if you are not up to your best and not healthy, so you must make sure you are at the top of your game. You should be following a workable daily routine so you will keep on with it and not give up; and get the maximum health benefits from it. Make sure you have a plan that will be an adjunct to your life, because if you won't use it, then it's no good for you. Enjoy your new life with your baby; and make that possible by being careful when you put your plan into action.
